I have been contracting all day today. I am 34 weeks pregnant. I dont know if they are real. Do fake ones stop when you walk? I walked for a while at the store and now I am resting and they have yet to stop. It almost feels like got a tad bit stronger. I took some tylenol just now to see if that helps. How can I tell if they are real. How long would the hicks last?

BHs can last for a while. They don't always go away right away when you change activity. If they get longer, stronger and closer together, then you need to call your doc. If they are coming from the back to front like period crampsand get down to the time your doc told you to call then call. BH's are usually always felt in ther front.

Real labor contractions: Longer, stronger and closer together (the pain will intensify as time goes on).

In my experience Braxton Hicks can go off and on for many weeks. Is there a rhythm to the contractions? Most likely at 34 weeks it is only Braxton Hicks. Walking doesn't really matter. You will know if it is real when it really starts to hurt. And I promise you will know!!! For right now if it is just uncomfortable and annoying then most likely it's only Braxton Hicks.

Remember: Don't hesitate to call your doctor if have questions. That's what they are there for and they get these calls all the time.

If they don't seem to stop by tomorrow or start to get really painful definately call your doctor. They can stop the contractions cause you should wait out your pregnancy. Good luck!!!

It's normal to have some contractions during the late part of your pregnancy. I've heard that you should be concerned if they are happening at regualar intervals (for instance every 5 minutes) or if they are painful. Walking will not necessarily make Braxton Hicks (fake) contractions go away - it could make them worse.

You should call your doctor to be on the safe side. If the contractions become very painful or are happening at regular intervals, I would go to the hospital right away. I've also heard that drinking plenty of fluids and resting are recommended to help stop Braxton Hicks contractions.

Usually Braxton hicks don't last that long, at least i don't think so. Have you timed them? You def should, and you said there getting stronger. I would call my OB office and speak to a nurse. I know it's frustrating when people tell you that because you want to know right now, but if it is the real thing you need to be checked out. They may ask you to come into the office to check for dilation. That will give you an exact answer. If it's nothing they'll send you home but it never hurts to be certain.

braxton hicks can last up until real contractions start. just time them and if they start getting closer together or are in regular pattern then theyre real. braxton hicks are very irregular and dont get any closer together. so the best thing to do is time them and if theyre regular and getting closer together, call your dr. Hope everything is all right!!

I would pop over to the ER and get checked to be sure. It should have stopped by now. Usually braxton hicks are short lived. Or call your doctor and see what he would like you to do. It wouldn't hurt to get a NST done and see how the contractions are running. Good luck.

I've never had braxton hicks, so I guess I don't know what they feel like..but definately time the distance between them. Call your OBGYN and talk to them. If they don't go away and you can't get ahold of your OB, go in to the hospital if they get 5-10 minutes appart.

I had contractions the last 6 weeks of my last pregnancy non stop. You should go in if They get unbarable If your water breaks (pretty obvious) If you see any bleeding or if you cant feel the baby moving like you normaly would. If you are unsure you should call your doctor good luck

I think you might be in labor. If you can time them or get someone to time them than if they are regular or in a pattern of regularity they're not braxtons. Braxton should only be irregular and not long lasting. Good luck to you

I had them constantly for my last 2 months. If I drank a really big glass of water, they would go away. Mine would stay strong even while laying down. I would call the doctor, just to be sure, because every pregnancy is different, and you could be in labor.
