I have scoliosis with an upper curve of 41 and a lower curve of 40 I am only 28 and they are talking surgery. I have heard that yoga can help and prevent surgery. Is this true and if it is does anyone know of a good yoga video that might help?

Scoliosis is a bony deformity and while yoga may improve the flexibility of your muscles, it will not prevent the bony structures of your spine from curving more. Surgery is indicated for curves above 45 degrees so while yours are not that advanced try talking to your doctor about the Milwaukee brace. Yoga is still a good idea for the health of the muscles involved. Good luck and stay positive, your curve may not to get too much worse.

The real question is are you in pain? Surgery should not be an option if not.
I have had scoliosis for more than 35 years and make use of a chiropractor who is a muscle specialist and a massage therapist when needed. Where I learned about a book on muscles, pain and referred pain that teaches you how to help yourself. It is called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
Yoga should not hurt it more if you don't do anything dumb.

I can't say rather or not this is true. Hatha Yoga is the form I would suggest first. Here is a online link with lessons http://www.hathayogalesson.com/

There are free classes in a lot of places. Find one and try it out some time. Then you need to practice the yoga at home too.

The second form I would suggest is Kundalini yoga. It is more about the subtle energies and chakras. I think it is very good for the spine IMO.

you are too old to re shape your bone, if you do difficult pose, it may fracture your joint, try this for a start : stand straight and then , try another : lay your back on a solid surface, try to stighten your back bone so from the butt above it contact to the surface, slowly up to the neck
