I'm not sure of the percentage.
There were a small percentage of blacks who were free men and owned slaves themselves.
The Black American has such a mixed lineage (white, black, native) it's hard to tell what percentage is what.

Hmmmm. I would say a majority. I doubt the Africans and West Indians outnumber the Americans, and most all black Americans came as slaves and were born slaves...ofcourse there are some that were born free and stayed that way and only mingled with free blacks.

No! African slaves were not the in hardship-free words slaves the following. Irish, Italian, a slave or indentured servant from purely about each u . s . a . helped construct this u . s . a .. u . s . a . is and grow to be a melting pot of all races. Our u . s . a . finally belongs to the yankee Indian and if all we may be able to do to pay their ancestors again for the crimes that were committed antagonistic to them is enable them to have casinos than so be it. it really is actual much better perfect restitution. We stole their land, gave those that were organic of substance alcohol and blankets laced with small pox. We owe them if we owe everybody. do not forget that in Africa it grow to be their very personal people promoting them and if their very personal people concept it ok why ought to we've on the instantaneous concept any diverse? Slavery for artwork and sex continues to be very generic in Africa and we individuals attempt to regulate that. Get it! restore the issue on the source. My chum Janet has her deceased husbands daughter from a previous marriage her in u . s . a . because at the same time as the mum heard that her ex had died she grow to be arranging her daughters(9yrs previous) sale. What a woman, huh!

Cory down below there:
please fix your ignorant rant you put on there! You mistakenly put that slavery was just a bad labor practice! Thats about equal to saying the holocost was just a bad flu that went around!
I dont think that having & treating slaves in the way they were, could be called 'taking care of them', unless you are Tony Soprano. Boy, its true about what they say about speaking & proving your ignorance.
