does it mean they carry "used" clothes/items or "out-of-date" fashion? or neither? can anyone suggest any hints/watch-outs/guidelines when you shop at these?

discount usually means bulk buy or fairly cheap produce. Not that im being a snob... but to me it usually means 'buy me and ill drop to pieces in minutes'..... or if its food.... buy me and i'll guarantee a quick death..... death by poisoining

It simply means the items sold are at low prices.

This can be end of season items, or just because they bulk buy and work on a high sale numbers/low profit methodology.

There are also places, QS (Quality Seconds) for instance, that take goods that are slightly flawed from more expensive retailers and put their own labels in them.
