Blu-Ray is a new DVD format that looks much better than normal DVD's. Movies recorded in Blu-Ray format can hold much more information also. So instead of an extra features DVD being included, it can all fit on to one Blu-Ray DVD. You're DVD player CAN NOT play Blu-Ray DVD's. You need a Blu-Ray DVD Player. They are very expensive. Also the reason it's called Blu-Ray is that normal DVD players have a RED laser reading information and Blu-Ray DVD players it's Blue.

a dvd uses a red laser. a blue ray uses a blue lazer. the size of the blue ray is smaller I think twise as small but don't quote me on it. This smaller size allows for the laser to store more data on a dvd. Or blue ray disk what eer they decide to call it.

The way a dvd works is by burning some indentations int the disk. To read it the computer reads those indentations. an indentation can mean a 1. Lack of indentation means a 0. Put a buch of 0's and 1s together and you get something the computer can understand.
