I know it is a bit soon but I would like to hear your opinion. I have been off-line so long and this was the one question I wanted to ask because my boyfriend is a Bulls supporter and I want to impress him with some of your info. Thank you everybody.

I'm gonna go with ...... Canterbury Crusaders! They are the current Super 14 champions and the most successful team in Super Rugby history.

(I used to like the Stormers, but they are just doing 'bollie" these days.)

The New Zealand teams are going to struggle for the first half of the Super14 since their All Black players are being rested for the World Cup so South African teams have a good chance this year.

I think that of our teams, the Bulls and the Cheetahs have the best chance. Both teams have excellent forwards and a good srumhalf/flyhalf combination. Also, with the way the Sharks played last week, they're in with a shout for the semis - provided Ruan Pienaar does not get injured, he's an unbelievably good player.

The Waratahs of Australia are looking impressive and I think they'll definitely be in the semi-finals. Don't expect much from the other Aussie teams.

From the New Zealand point of view, I think the Crusaders and the Blues have a chance provided that when their All Blacks return, they are not too far behind in the points standings.

This is probably one of the best chances that an SA team have to actually win the premier Southern Hemisphere tournament (the last time being in the mid 90s when Transvaal won the old Super10).
I think the Bulls should be there in the end, but will be happy if any of the SA teams can do it.

a big plus for us is the kiwis resting key players. the waratahs seem to be good on paper so they must be in with a chance. the south africans have VERY good players on paper but on the field they lose the plot badly especially when they are overseas. this year it will all depend on injuries and the points diff on the logs when the all blacks return to their provinces. at this stage i would reckon on the Bulls(and it pains me to say this) or the sharks to make it at least to the quarters. anything more would be a bonus.

However at world cup SA should do well and i hope that the lack of game time would affect the kiwis. we are the only team to have beaten them in the past couple of years so hopefully we can repeat that, barring injuries of course. A very definite contender would be FRance palying on home ground
