I had baths and showered all through my two pregnancies with no problems. Lie back and enjoy!

When I was pregnant I was advised that I could take baths - just not in hot water. If you feel the need to take a bath, just make sure the water isn't hot at all. Taking hot baths can overheat you and can be harmful to the fetus.
Here is some information I came across on the internet: Both baths and showers are fine to take during pregnancy, but very hot baths, hot tubs, and saunas can be harmful to the fetus, or cause you to faint. You also might want to avoid taking frequent bubble baths or baths with perfumed products that might irritate your vaginal area, and increase your risk of a urinary tract infection or yeast infection. Do not use douches, even vinegar-based douches, without first talking with your health care provider. Although vaginal discharge tends to be heavier during pregnancy, you should see your health care provider if you have vaginal itching, burning or a heavy discharge. You could have a urinary tract infection, yeast infection, viral or bacterial infection that needs treatment.

Yes it is fine to take baths as long as they are not too hot and you arent' having any complications that can cause your doctor to become concerned. You also can't take a bath after your water breaks. I would also make sure that when you take a bath there is someone else there to help you out if you have trouble getting out of the tub. I know as you get larger it is harder to get up. Otherwise it is safe to take a bath.

Baths are totally fine but just not too hot. Your baby does not have the ability to regulate it's own body temperature so a bath that is too hot could cause great harm. And absolutely no hot tubs... No baths after the baby is born though...for 6 weeks. Your uterus needs to shrink and your cervix has to close up completely or there is an increased risk of infection.
Good luck and Congrats!

I take a warm bath every night before bed. It relaxes me. As I am in my last trimester it also helps calm down the restless leg syndrome I have begun to experience and helps me fall asleep right away as opposed to laying there for 3 hours. I use Avon bubbles in the tub. I haven't gotten any bad infections from using those as compared to other brands.

i my self am six months pregnant with my second child.....with my first pregnancy my doctor told me at about four months to start taking baths rather than standing in the shower because pregnant women often get dizzy or light headed and we become more clumsy when we are pregnant! it is totally okay to bathe just dont use really hot water.

It is perfectly fine to take a bath as long as your membranes are still intact. Once your water breaks, taking a bath can allow dirty water up near the baby and cause infection.
