That is not a politically correct statement..
No one is interested in hearing the truth so
you are spitting up-wind...
There is still active slave trade in Africa...
You do not see black Americans making any
great effort to make things better for the homeland
they claim to hold so dear..

Aww, you just learn a piece of history...congrats. Now would you please go and exam EVERYTHING that happen before/during/after that time and then report on the WHOLE history and just not a small part. The part is simply usually without the whole facts of the matter. Why don't you mention the Arab invasion or Africa or the European invasion of Africa? There are many other things that go along with Africans selling their captured into slavery...like the Europeans buying the people. Hello!
Facts are absolutely useless unless they are placed in there proper context.

I don't think you know enough about African history to give a lesson. But lemme put it like this: we know HOW we ended up here as Africans. I think it's the way we were treated as African-American's that hurt so much. So don't assume that just cause you saw Roots, you are the justice on how Black people should feel in regards to their slave history. Lol... but thanks for the info, man, I really appriciate it. : )

I'm a black woman who can say this:
A majority of black people don't know that the kings in Africa were approached by European and Dutch men to get slaves that were prisoners of war or men in Africa that were in jails in Africa. The kings were willing to allow these men serve out their sentence in another country. However, the European, Dutch, and other countries got greedy and began killing off millions of African people, forcing them to come to these countries, and stealing Africa's resources. Do white people know or even realize that?
We, as black people, need to be educated the right way of how our country was ran before they came and barged in, how it was when they came barging in, and our total history as a people. Our history goes further than what we are lead to believe and I know it because I've studied it and I'm continuing to learn.

I personally am not responsible and do not assume any responsibility for anything MY ANCESTORS did to the ancestors of black people today. That is how I see it.I didn't agree with what they did and wouldn't have participated. Being caucasion I probably have so many ancestors from all over the world. I even have indian blood running thru my veins, but I'm not upset with whites today for what their ANCESTORS did to my indian ancestors. They didn't personally do it. Isn't this how it should be?

WHATEVER!!! If white ppl weren't willing to buy it would have never happened!!! Yeah I'm sure black ppl are well aware of that. But who even made it a reputable form of bartering back then? It doesn't justify it and just makes you look petty when you try to use it as sometype of justification.
Thank you astoria!!! Smart cookie!!

are you serious??? so you justify that because A FEW of the people were made a damn deal with those idiots!!! so if a group of people came and stole you away from your family...would it be okay because your next door neighbor made a deal in exchange for money...saying that they can have you. PLEASE! the people who were at fault are the people that came and took them.....beat them...enslaved them....tortured them. And right now I hope they are all burning in hell!!!
