Yep - I voted for Bush - because he made a decision and stood by it. Unlike his competition - Kerry - who was associated with a flip flop because he changed his mind so often. Bush has made some good decisions and he's made some bad decisions - but at least he is honest. He is not the only person in the last 10+ years to state that Iraq had WMD's - his predecessor said the same thing.

These are two very different questions. No one set an exit date for when the war is "supposed" to end. When we win is really the only acceptable answer.
To ask about voting for Bush, first take a look at the people who were his opposition. Scary. There are many reasons, too many really, to delve into this on yahoo answers, so I'll try to come up with a more generic answer to this one. I voted for Bush because he was the stronger candidate on security, defense, and he more thoroughly represented my beliefs about the way the United States should work than any of his opponents.

I voted for Bush in 04, and let it be known that not one reasonable person, including the president, WANTS the war to continue. Ideally, the Iraqi people would grow up, act like civilized people, and make it morally possible for us to leave that. The war will end in one of two ways. The first way is if we stick it out for a couple more years, and quell the violence enough to hand the security over to the Iraqi forces. The other way that the war will end is for us to get out now. On the surface, the latter option seems like it would be best for America, but I don't think that the president would be able to sleep at night knowing that by us leaving, he would be sentencing hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of Iraqi people to a brutal death from being caught in the middle of the childish squabbles of two rival sects of Islam.

The war will end when Bush, but more likely the poor man/woman who takes the ruins of the once great American government, realizes that the war in Iraq is unwinnable.
If you voted for Bush in a lack of any other word you are an idiot, but maybe its not your fault, your parents were probably idiots as well. That is of course unless you are in the 1% of the population that controls 99% of the wealth in America....

It ends when we win. When the Iraqi people who voted for freedom and security get just that. War is not a microwave in which you set a timer and wait for it to ding. I voted for him because he was the better person for the job. John Kerry is a flip flopping elitest. The Swift Boat Veterans should of told you that. Right now Mr. Kerry wants to submit a withdrawl date from the war he voted for. He doesn't want to follow through with his actions. Would that have made him a better president?

Funny, when a war starts there is No ending date, but if you look at history the major wars take 4-6 years and then another 10 to rebuild (Germany, Japan), so we are right on tract. When it started I told my son (Army Sgt, with two tours in Iraq) that it will probably be over in 2008, assuming the iraqi's step to the plate. What we have done is given them the chance for freedom and democracy, it's up to them to take it and keep it, not us!

When it ends and freedom is established for the Iraqi people or a liberal gets elected and runs like hell.
Because of the other two choices. One who invented the internet and global warming or the communist war vet.

The war will end when we win. I voted for Bush to win this war, and that is obviously what he is determined to do. No regrets on my part.

Who knows for sure. I voted for Bush because he is a good President, he has everything under control.....it's all those Democrats who were let into office that are going to screw this world up.

the problem with war, is there is no way to determine when it will be over. Estimates are one thing, but nothing is certain in war.
