Why / how are women like this getting so homicidal ?
Are my expectations / image of them just unrealistic ?

By the way, the skydiver was Belgian and
Our astronaut was married to someone else w/ 3 kids !

The lady (Nowak) was married & had 3 kids
The male was single , as I believe, the attacked woman was too.

This chick is just plain nuts right now...but having said that...and I am not making excuses, just pointing something out...she didn't get that crazed all by herself.
Jealousy is the main cause of crimes of passion and no doubt, she was planning on killing the other woman no doubt and has now been upgraded with intent to kill...
I don't blame men for everything but I would be willing to bet that this guy was and is a player and lied to her and helped to push her over the edge...probably made promises he never intended to keep and so on.......I had someone in my life once who was that way and looking back, I can not beleve some of the things that I was capable of...nothing close to her but I did some pretty nasty stuff...I think i just got into this mode where i wanted to hurt (not physically) both he and the other woman...which he lied and lied about...yes I was an idiot, anywy...he was a lawyer and she worked at the firm, I called and left a message that they were fooling around...!!!! normally I would never do anything like that..it was just like I snapped!!!! There is so much more to it, but he did put me there, trust me.......
anyway...she is in deep crap (not a diaper joke) right now and needs to get serious help...making a phone call is not something I am proud of but this was a well planned out full out intent to murder her...why not go after him instead?....

This stuff goes on everyday somewhere. It doesn't just apply to the Jerry Springer crowd. There are a lot of Jean Harris's out there. They all are wrapped up in some man...doesn't matter is he's a beer drinking unemployed bossy lounge lizzard or an astronaut. You would think such an accomplished woman would have more self respect...but brains, talent and accomplishments don't necessarily apply when it comes to their emotional health or affairs of the heart. The male is at fault here...he's married and screwing around regularly. And, for some women all men are fair game to them. God help his wife and family too. Nasa will circle their wagons over that woman...to keep down the fall out over this "private personal matter." Those people knew what was going on ...don't let them kid you for a moment about that. They knew it!
Watch how the protect their once untarnished image...stay tuned.

Behavior so totally unbecoming an astronaut!
(Don't put too much weight on the fact that women's violent crimes are widely reported: this is partly because any weird crime is good press, and women's weird crime even more so, being less common.)
I would take into account that an astronaut, and a skydiver too, needs to have an active and adventurous temperament. Crime and violence are the dark side of this kind of temperament. It would be weirder if a woman accountant did something like this.
I would have expected an astronaut to have more discipline.

The astronaut incident is very embarrassing. What a way to ruin your career and reputation! CNN has reported that she will not be let out on bail after all and she is now being charged with attempted murder. Her mug shot looks like if she's been on crack!
Some women just don't know any better. They get into these love triangles that end up ruining marriages, families and their reputation. They don't stop and think the outcome of their adventure because they get so caught up in the moment. It's not worth it.

the astronaut story made me actually laugh out loud today because I find it so pathetic. Ruins her whole life over jealousy. This lady is a total nutjob and needs to be locked up. Sounds like a couple of my exgirlfriends!

Women need to stop going after the OTHER women. The man is the one responsible for cheating. Most of the time the OTHER women doesn't even know the man is involved with someone else. Just leave them and get on with your life, don't kill someone and end up in jail.

These kinds of things happen through all walks and all classes of life, accountants and waitresses do it to, but nobody really cares to hear about them cause there's nothing unusual about those prefessions. When it's a priest or a president or an astronaut we hear about it.

This is a really WEIRD story ! I heard this morning she will be charged with attempted first degree murder and is facing a court martial. They say women are getting more violent these days !
