Someone who retains the principal genitalia of the gender they do not consider themselves to be and they are awaiting surgery to correct this.

A Pre-Op transsexual is either a MTF or FTM who is undergoing hormone treatment and living as the sex they will be after undergoing SRS. Generally Pre-Op are under the care of a Doctor, recieving hormones and completing a time period as the gender they would become after surgery. If they successfully complete this stage, they would then be candidates for the SRS after which time they would be considered Post-Op. A transsexual is not the same as a Crossdresser since the former believes themselves to be the wrong sex due to birth, while the latter only wants to dress as the opposite sex, not become it.

This would be someone who DRESSES like they are the opposite sex, but actually still has the reproductive organs of the sex they truly are. For example a pre-op man would dress up like a woman, but would still have a penis. A post-op would dress up like a woman, and would have had his penis removed during the sex change operation.

Someone who has not yet had the surgery to turn them into their desired sex. They could still be taking supplements to help them appear more female (or male if the case may be), but until they have the surgery they will still be "packing heat." In other words, a chick with a dick.

They consider themselves the opposite gender and take hormones and other drugs to enhance the illusion, but still have their OEM equipment.

It is before = "pre" they have their "operation", to become the others sex. i.e. if they are a man wanting to become a woman vice versa.
