A person sent me a threatening message. Their e-mail they used was: dee_alive@hotmail.com the ip address was 125.215.159.132

says that there are no PTR records for 125.215.159.132.

I traced the IP address back to a company or person who is probably doing business via "imsbiz.com", a connection with this website:

http://www.biz.netvigator.com/eng/support/login/customer_login.html

Of course, that is based on the IP address you supplied. If you gave an incorrect address or if they spoofed it to make it look like it came from there, then we may be pointing at the wrong guilty party.

From the looks of things, this outfit is in Hong Kong, so don't think you will have much course of action. You could try contacting the ISP and seeing what they can do, if anything.

You could forward the email to Hotmail's abuse department and if it keeps on happening and looks quite disturbing and serious, take legal action.
