Best see a Doc.
I use a mix of : Turmeric powder, Ground pepper, Dry ginger and Almonds. Equal amount. Mix and keep.
Take a quarter teaspoon, mix with honey, lick it slowly. And if you find it "hot" to palette, drink warm milk along with it. About half cup.
Helps congestion. And throat.
Is a grandmother's recipé .
Another is : Boil together some fresh ginger grated. Say half inch piece.Add some 7 pepper corns. 3 cloves , half inch Cinnamon in pieces. Some basil leaves. About 10.
Put enough water . Reduce heat and let the mix boil. Get an extract that looks brownish. Add honey and sip as warm as you can. Half cup at a time.
You can store in frig. just take out , heat and drink. 3 times a day.
All the best.

My mom used to give us whiskey, honey and lemon...mixed..good for coughs and sore throats..steeped tea with lemon is good for congestion..as is boiling some water on the stove (or microwave) and covering ones head with a towel and putting head over the boiling water...(adding some peppermint or eucaylptys helps a lot, too!)...and breathing in the vapors will do wonders....

Go to a steam bath if you have no health problems or boil water on the stove and hang your head over it. I have an electric facial steamer that I bought from a chain drugstore and it sits on the table. Otherwise eat a lot of hot peppers or take a capsule of cayenne pepper but watch out for your stomach. Take it with food or a "Tums". I like fresh ginger and I take Mucinex (once a prescription now over the counter).

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

You cant cure a cold but you can do things to make you more comfortable. Rest, drink plenty of fluids like hot tea or juice and make sure you eat or you feel worse because you will get weak.
