I'm a myspace addict..
All it is, really.. is fancy personalized email...
The fun thing is that most of my "friends" on my list are my family members (cousins, aunts, uncles) that I don't speak to most of the time... but they leave me cute little comments and messages once a week.. just to stay in touch.. I like that.
I also "reconnected" with some old friends from high school..
It's kind of fun..
Nothing bad about it, unless you're not smart.. and add a bunch of strangers to your list. Then you open yourself up for viruses and stalkers..

At the end of the day it's a personal choice. Do you want a myspace? if you do then go and join... if you dont then I wouldn't worry about it. Lots of my friends have one, and so do I, but then lots of my friends dont have.
Nobody is required to have a myspace and it is neither good or bad to have on. Some people use it for selfpromotion of their band/work/skills... whatever.
Don't worry about it.... afterall, it's just a website!

Many people are having trouble getting on MySpace, and the reason is because their security system on their PCs is trying to tell them something. DON"T GO THERE !!! I think that site is riddled with spyware & viruses, and the more popular the site becomes, the more companies will put their tracking cookies there, so they will get in your computer to track where you surf to, so a third party client will know where on the net to place their ads. That what most spyware does.

I think it is a good thing. I think they are placing a lot of responsibility for things on MySpace, where they should also be focusing on the people themselves. People just need to be more careful and use their heads.

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to keep up with friends it's good but be careful not to disclose too much personal info for the world to see. Making your profile Private is the way to go to avoid a lot of the issues. It also can be addicting and a big time time waster.
