If a person is kind or giving, there are lowly types who take this as weakness, and feel that it is their duty to screw over a nice person, why? oh why?

I know what you mean. I'm dead polite BUT it doesn't mean that I'm a push over or that I'm stupid or that I cannot stand up for myself...it just means I was raised right.

I think people see it as a vulnerability, and in this day and age it would seem that being vulnerable isn't all that acceptable. Everyone seems to be looking out for themselves, and while there are many reasons that looking out for oneself is a good thing, it can also turn some people into users of others, manipulators, and the like.

I thought I could answer this easily but I can't, bully's are what make nice folks fall and take the nice person with them the way to live is get rid of the mean person and move on as to keep your sanity because we are to be good even if we move on with out that person....

In our macho society, some feel it's a feminine trait to be kind and caring, whereas it's one of the strongest things you can do.
Seeing a man helping a child or a sick person is very gratifying.

They see it as a dropping of your guard, an opportunity. It is a game of odds that they put into motion knowing 1 in 10 will hit pay dirt.

Some people will take advantage of anything they can. I have noticed that these people are quick to accuse you of being greedy, uncaring, etc. when you stop letting them take advantage of you. And that's regardless of the way they have treated you. I have also met people that will flat out tell you that if you leave yourself open for it they will take advantage of you. Because they think you are stupid if you don't see it coming and watch out for everyone.

its definitely not a sign of weakness we just live in a rude vulgar world that laughs in delight when it witnesses acts of cruelty and coldness. kindness is awesome!! be kind!!
