Listen, I DO sympathize w/ the world, but.........?

Question

Why are these celeberties always talking about helping other countries?
I realize how bad they have it, but , really, why can't we help our own first?
I hate to sound selfish, but just look around......our country "USA "also needs help with our unemployed, welfare recipients and the poor and starving.
Does anyone agree??

These celebrities are under the impression that because they are rich that there is no true poverty here. They don't want to see that people are starving in this country while they rake in the dough for being pretty. I also think most of what they do is for publicity, and it does not impress me.

I totally agree with you. Everybody points their fingers at the USA when other countries like the poorest drought ridden areas of Africa keep screwing like monkeys, knowing it won't be till the next flash flood that they can even bathe themselves, caring less about disease and famine and bringing kids they cannot provide clean drinking water or toilets to, nevertheless food, into their miserable world even after we have to send troops over there to protect the very food supplies we sent in the first place. Yeah, makes sense doesn't it. Everybody is placing the blame on the USA when we have children who die from cancer, at the hands of foster and adoptive parents, etc...etc...

Funny how birth control is freely made available here and we do not have those problems that these African countries do. Make them people find something else interesting to do besides phuccing and producing more starving kids.

Go ahead and report me all of you numbnuts who think I am wrong. Look at it like this. You see a homeless mom who looks strung out with a couple of little kids in tow. You don't give her any money because you figure she is going to use it on drugs and not buy anything for her kids. It happens all the time. Same way in Africa. They're just going to keep pleasing each other sexually without thinking of the kids they will produce and will never be able to feed.

I definetly agree. the thing is with celebrites, they already did what they could to help our country. I'm sure most of them voted against bush, it's just the rest of the people in the usa ;who didn't want to help our country. There is no way we as one person could ever really make such a huge difference, but celebrities have enough money to make somewhat of a difference. So they do. Is that sucha problem?

Because they have the media's attention in highlighting issues that would normally never get any coverage. What does it really matter wether you help a human being here or there?
