Rebecca is my commonly used e-e book, and particular of interest to this female for the reason that it is atmosphere is a faulous mansion in England called The Manderly. The mansion is the main ordinary component of the e book. it is a secret revolving around the character, Rebecca, who's rather ineffective from the very commencing and by no ability seems lower back. The fundamental character (a female never named) marries Rebecca's widower and strikes into the mysterious, maximum appropriate Manderley. The mansion seems to echo Rebecca's legacy and the recent better half feels she only isn't as only suited at walking the Manderly as Rebecca grew to become into. approximately mid-ability by way of the e-e book, a surprising key's outlined and you of course can not positioned it down! The e e book is recognized a classic by many. don't be decieved interior the process the cover as that's no romance e-e book! additionally, there could be some talk approximately Rebecca's death, yet no gore. If it have been rated, it may be PG.

The Hannibal books by Thomas Harris
How about true crime? Anne Rule has made a career of writing about serial killers. KNOWING what they're talking about? Are you implying you are looking for an author who has tortured people? That sounds a bit sick.
Helter Skelter about the Manson Family murders
Books about child abuse like A Child Called It and Mommie Dearest are pretty over the top, too.

I am a fiction fantasy writer. I've written things along the line of Harry Potter for young adult, and I've written adult fantasy as well. Although I've not completed anything VERY dark I know I'm capable. I am working on a vampire-like novel now. It's twisted, bloody, sexy, and mysterious, but it's not completed.
So are you an agent or publishing company looking for a writer? Or are you looking for someone to give you an idea?

What do you mean by "dark"? Splatterpunk?
David J. Schow has a story called Bad Guy Hats which is very dark.
Or there's the novella The Hole Of The Pit by Adrian Ross which is very dark indeed.
Anything by Hugh B. Cave is good.
The Jumpity-Jim by R. Chetwynd-Hayes is creepy.
Lisa Tuttle, Graham Masterson, Karl Edward Wagner, Robert Bloch...etc.
Emerald City Blues by Steven R. Boyett is one of my favourites.

Huh? Knows what they are talking about? Most authors feel they know what they are talking about, and since horror is fiction, then what they are talking about is subjective. Anyway, Anne Rice is good. Tom Tryon, too. The idea of VERY dark is also subjective.
