Harper's obviously doing his best to turn Canada into the next bunch of U.S. states. He's prodded every third Canadian to think crime's on the rise -- despite proof that crime has been going down for many years.

The U.S. drug enforcement agencies helped "manufacture" more prisoners per capita than every other country on Earth. Wikipedia says:
"In absolute terms, the United States currently has the largest inmate population in the world, with more than 2 million in prison and jails, even though violent crime and property crime have been declining since the 1990s, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics." The U.S. has as many jailbirds as China and Russia combined.

Ah yes, and such a wonderful profit-generating industry: privatized prisons. So what's next for puppet Harper? Privatized armed forces too, like the U.S.?

God help us if Harper is Canada's prime minister a year from now.

With all of the eyes on celebrities they know that they have a better chance of breaking addictions so that they can resume being role-models and influential people. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan did do some time in prison but because of the amount of help and quality or rehabilitation they can recieve they're probably at a less likelihood of becoming a repeat offender. I'm not sure what the judge is thinking in the Lindsay Lohan case but that's another story. Your daughter broke the law and although it may have been a first time offense it's really time people start getting proper sentencing for their drug-related crimes. If your daughter is over 18 then she is getting the right sentence. She ****** up, and now she will pay for her actions. Although it's not necessarily a prime goal of the criminal justice system to rehabilitate offenders, maybe she will think twice before using. Also you did not list any specifics of her case so we don't exactly know if it's right or wrong.
