The angels are crying for your loss. It was odd though... the whole last week that my Gramma was really sick the weather was miserable... the morning she passed, the sun came out and we had a beautiful day. It was almost as if some higher power was trying to cheer us up...

If you mean only in movies, it's because people seem to see rain as sad and miserable. And if in real life, well same thing it just makes many people feel miserable, and sun is just too much when you're sad I guess. Personally I love the rain. I'm sick of the snow and would love for it to rain again!

I had really never noticed until my Mom passed away and my husband had to go buy me an umbrella that I never used anyway because it didn't matter it was raining I did not even notice.

Although I would like to believe the first answer; the truth is someone dies every second every day. The weather has no connection what so ever. On the up side there is a birth every second also.

If this were true it would never stop raining because people die every hour of every day.

it's one of those perceived things, like "Hey, why is it that Phish always played "runaway jim" and "foam" in the same show?" They didn't, but it sure seemed that way.

More people tend to pass away in the winter. It rains more in winter.

It was not raining at any time near the death of either of my parents. Not on the day of or any day near the death of either parent. That myth is total crap.

If that was the case it would never stop raining. People are constantly dying. Its probably just coincidence.

My great-grandmother used to say "they're going off to Heaven"during the funeral, when it would begin to rain.I miss her so much.
