I remember when the Fisher Price telephones were made out of solid wood and had the wooden wheels (remember the rotary dial?) You could do some real damage to an errant sibling with that...I know I was on both ends of that.

i remember real metal lawn darts well but i got a better one for you
in the mid to late 1980's Hasbro came up with a short lived line of boy's toys based on the movie First Blood Part 2 (more commonly known as Rambo 2)
1 of the toys i had from that era that is now banned for "safety issues" was the suction cup bow and arrow set
another that was banned that I had as a kid was a set of 1 inch tall action figures called Eagle Force they were made out of painted Die Cast Metal and were classified "unsafe" because the plastic heads were ruled a choking hazzard
my sister had a barbie acessory that is now banned due to "safety reasons" as well meaning the inline rollerblade skates that were basicly cig lighter wheels and flint with no butane compartment to hold fluid to convert it to a working cig lighter
ahhhh that brings back memories of strappin M-80's to it lightin the fuses and dropin it off the 2nd story of my house as a kid and when my sister asked where her barbie was i told her that her doll couldn't stand livin with her anymore and ran into the path of the lawnmower as i mowed the backyard in a suicide attempt that succeeded
lol i was so cruel back then but I'M MUCH BETTER NOW!!!!! lol

Cap guns. My friend bought my son a cowboy outfit for his birthday and wanted a gun for his holster. When she finally had to ask, the girl looked at her incredulously and told her, "Ma'am, we don't sell things like that here." Like she was slow or something! She just wanted a little gun and that got us talking about cap guns and how the boys would sometimes put a strip on the curb and use the butt of the gun to explode them. Actually, I can understand the darts. We weren't allowed to have them and a brother of a kid I knew growing up had one thrown at him that landed in his neck, but metal Tonkas or guns for holsters?! Are kids dumber today than we were? I don't think so! Kids today know that when Daffy Duck gets his beak blown off and picks it up and puts it back on that it's only a cartoon, too!

Click-clacks. I'm not sure about the spelling. They were two glass balls on a string with a ring in the middle as a handle. The balls were supposed to hit each other up top and down low as they swung up and down. This usually resulted in a solid bruise around my forearm where the balls were constantly slamming into me whenever I lost the rhythm.
Apparently they made a pretty dangerous weapon, also.
I loved those things!

One word...
MEGATRON
The original Decepticon leader from the Transformers toy line. He transformed into a quite realistic hand-gun fully equipped with shoulder stock and scope. But due to legislation you cannot have a children's toy that looks like a real fire-arm...
Now Megatron is either a jet or a tank or a dinosaur OR the newest one looks like a freaking Nerf pistol. (Ugly as sin, if I may add!!!)

Weebles, Fisher Price Peg People, certain kinds of cap guns, those round rocks that knock together and make loud noises, and there are ALL kinds of fireworks and model rockets I can remember my brothers and I playing with as kids that you probably couldn't even buy in China now. And what about those little lead soldiers?

Little Fisher Price people. They were plastic figures without arms or legs but had a hole in the bottom so they could be finger puppets.
They stopped making them because they were a choking hazard for babies.
