If you are in the UK and it is for the Pill, they usually do not examine you, just take your height and blood pressure, and ask some questions. If it's a gynae exam , you need to take off the clothes from your bottom half (they let you leave your top on). My doc talks to me to reasuure me and it's done in a few minutes. They usually put a gel like KY Jelly on a instrument which holds your legs open and then gently take a sample from inside. Sometimes the doc has to feel with his fingers for lumps etc but it's all done professionally. My doc actually apologises to me that he has to do it! There is usually a screen to get changed behind and then you lay on the bed and the doc comes to you so he doesn't see you standing there in your birthday suite! Please don't worry the doc has done it many times before and it's never as bad as you think. The embarrassment goes with time and now I just get on with it when they ask (I've had a doc look "down there" at least 8 times cos I've got endometriosis!.

for the most part an annual check up requires having your clothes on. unless it's an obgyn.(female body parts dr.) he'll just listen to your heart, lungs, check your ears, eyes, throat. if he finds something unusual he might have you undress. If you do have to undress he should have a nurse in there too. Just for your own security have your mom go with you. Relax there's really nothing to it. Good luck to you.

You will have to undress, but usually they give you linens to put on. I was always the same way as you, so I just go to a female doctor. I'm sure the check up you are referring to is your pap, so go to a gynocologist. The gynocologist will do your breast exam, pelvic exam, and your pap smear. It doesn't take that long, but it is somewhat uncomfortable(because its so strange) the first few times. Just take deep breaths and think......that doctor sees hundreds of patients and does it all day long, so it will be no big deal.

Ask for a female doctor and dont worry about it, my mother once told me that I was just like a machine to them and they see thousands of people and dont remember what anyone looks like. So thats how I always think of it, no one likes going for the first time and I hate people seeing my body but its just one of the things we have to do.
Please dont worry about it and just go, u will feel much better afterwards.

Unless you're having sex, doctor's don't usually perform pelvic exams. There's no reason to. If you are having sex, then you will have to undress, but they will give you a paper gown to wear. The doctor will perform a breast exam, press on your abdomen, and do a vaginal and rectal exam. It's not as bad as it sounds. During my first exam, I stated at the ceiling and count the little holes in the tile until he was finished.

it will depend on the type of check up you are having. If you really do not feel comfortable with a male doc see a female one or a nurse.Check ups dont usually involve stripping.
