Well, it could be anywhere between ~$1800 and $8000 depending on your age, location, new or used, taste in leathers/helmet, etc...

I think most people can, and do outfit themselves for $500~700 in gear.

New bike price should never go over $3500 out the door, but a good, no-issues used bike can be had for as little as $1500 with some looking.

Insurance varies Widly from state to state, company to company, and person to person. I paid $9/year adding it onto an existing policy, and I know others have said they spend $1800/year on their coverage.

Safety courses are the same way... in Georgia you're looking at $250~300, in Wyoming you're looking at $25. Depends on if the state subsidizes the course, or if you foot the whole bill.

Same goes for title and tags, though those will change depending on new/used/age of a used bike as well as what state you're in.

To get a better idea, you may want to head on over to the EX250 forums:

And ask Specifics about your state/location. and check out the FAQ for information on buying used, gear, safety classes, etc:

Well include insurance. Depending that you get used clothing to fit you, you are looking at say $3000 to $6000. What year of bike, type of clothing will affect price.
