I am not a smoker , My parents always did. Im not sure if the government should have that right. Can you tell me what you think. Is a ban next to smoke in your home next? Is this just a way to get people to stop all together?

Well, how do you feel about risking the health of your kids for the jollies of a cigarette? I would think that people would put the health of their kids above the pleasure of a little nicotine surging through your veins. . .

Usually, I am against any sort of legislation that infringes upon another's freedom, but I think the health of kids far outweighs an adult's freedom to kill themselves.

Addition:
My daughter doesn't eat fast food. And last I checked, one can't get cancer simply by breathing in the smells of some McNuggets. And the SMELL stays in the fabric - no the nicotine (which is the killer). And as a sufferer of asthma due to being raised in a house with a smoking parent, I will tell you that it SUCKS having something so hard to deal with and it could have been prevented. I have a lot of issues due to 10 years of second hand smoke (this is all before they knew the effects of second hand smoke. . .). Why not just consider someone besides yourself and your pleasures. . .

No way would Indiana pass such a law!!! Ever! No one would be an officer in that case; that would be horribly evil to do that to them. Who cares if they make an illegal entry? That can be proven later in court. If they mess up, they shouldn't be killed for it. How evil to return the very officers that put their lives on the line every day cleaning up criminal activity & not keep those officers safe in return. That's only a blog that you read. YOu'd have to read it from the state statues not word of mouth. Weep for America; she's not changing for the better if that was the case. Still I don't believe it. No one has shown the state statute that says that.

well if you smoke in a car with you children you should be more then fined. it not old news we all know second hand smoke kills it makes you sick and can cause problems in the lungs of young children. how dare any parent in danger their child that's whats wrong with American people like you, they don't care about whats best for their kids not what you think is right. i cant stand people saying i smoke and no one tells me i can't, i am like Bull shhhhhhhhhh itttttttt you have no rights to come around me and my son and light up. take that someplace else i was here first. so i say good for Indiana. though they should not make it illegal to smoke just protect the kids when parents don't.

Torn on this one. However, second hand smoke is turning out to be much worse for people than previously thought. Also, kids watching their parents smoke perpetuates the habit through the generations. THAT is not necessarily a proper place for government to interfere, however, as a health matter, it is a fact.

I agree with not smoking around children. But some of these anti smoking laws are getting ridiculous. If they want to ban cigarettes in this country then they should do so instead of permitting it and heavily persecuting smokers.

100% great, someone has to protect the children from uncaring parents. Even if they are the parents they do not have the right to inflict cancer onto their children. They should ban it in the home as well.
