I really don't think there is a certain number of years you have to be together before you get married. i feel the same way and I've been in my relationship a year but i just know i want to marry him. i say follow your heart if you both want to get married i say go for it! Good Luck!

Lol my hubby and I got married 8 months after we met. We were already married when we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We'll be married for 6 years next month, and things are still as great as they were when we first met! Maybe we don't have sex as often, and our relationship has changed a bit, but we are such a strong unit and family, and I can't imagine life without him. I knew that I would marry him after a week of dating. When it's truly right, you know. The fact that you have to ask how long you need to be together might not be a good sign. Make sure that you talk about what you both want in terms of family, religion, financial security, and basic morals and values. Do you want kids? Does he believe in spanking, but you don't? Make sure you have all of that straightened out before you are even engaged.

Legally, you can get married the same day you two meet... Everything else is up to you. For me personally, a year is about as long as I would wait to start planning to get married, but whatever works for you.

This is totally up to you but i would say at least one year. this gives you time to get the know alot about the person you are marrying. Alot less chance of marrying a stranger that way.

Dating exclusively/monogamously for 2 years is about right if you're over the age of 25.

Do you really think that you have to date someone for an extended period of time before you can get married. ? you do not really think that do you?> if so then you are to young and immature to get married.

1.5 years
That tends to be long enough to see how each other handles themselves under stressful situations. Long enough to get an honest assessment of the others character.
