They are vicious and unpredictable and it takes a lot of effort to train them to a stage where you can saddle or harness them. That is why they have never been domesticated. their body does not take the shape of a saddle too well. There are zebra crosses that you could probably ride like the zorse{a zebra x horse} or a zonkey {zebra x donkey}. Zebras are pack animals and they are hunted in the wild so they run in a zig zag pattern not in a straight line. It would take years of training to teach a zebra to run straight..lol...They also have very strong necks and hard mouths so getting them to do what you want would be tough. In the movie Racing Stripes that was a real zebra they were riding not a horse painted up. According to Ripleys Believe It or Not only one zebra has ever been domesticated. That must be the one.

Yes, some people have ridden zebras. Actual zebras were ridden in the movie Racing Stripes. "http://movies.about.com/od/racingstripes/a/racinghp010505.htm".
Zebras are not vicious. They are, however, not domesticated animals (in other words, they have not been artificially selected through breeding for traits desirable in an animal used for riding.) A zebra may bite, but some horses bite, too.

Nope yeah can't ride a zebra ... they won't let you.
Anytime you see someone riding a zebra in a movie it's really a white horse with black stripes.

Not only are they not easy to train, but the structure of their backs isn't built for that kind of weight.
