I believe it is morally wrong that some people are prepared to donate money to animals when there is so much HUMAN suffering in this world!!! why do stupid people do this when you consider there is famine, disease and wars in so many countries worldwide?. There are PEOPLE in need of aid...therefore giving to animals (in my mind) is selfsh and wrong on so many levels... What are your opinions?

In response to 'ruhtrachi's' answer:

actually I like animals. I have a pet cat and a horse (if you consider is a 'pet' lol). I am very fond of the both of them.
All I am trying to say is that in my opinion humans should come before animals with regards to giving aid. If anyone has a different opinion then please feel free to share it with me....

What makes you think the human species is more worthy and deserving than any other? Because animals don't have the skills to sit on their fat bums eating doritos and farting about on yahoo answers? Because they don't start wars over religion/race/money? Because they mostly take what they need out of life not what they want through greed? Why are we so superior? and how is giving to ANY charity in any way selfish?

My opinion is you are not an animal lover you have made that quite clear and that's a big gap between you and I as I adore animals they have a right to enjoy this world just as much as you have and I freely give to animal charities BUT I also give freely to heart foundations charity having had bypass surgery and i also give to local hospice so i think you should have second thoughts as to "some people are morally wrong " yours words L66 I wonder if you will answer in the box

I don't agree because the suffering of most animals is caused by the stupidity of humans and if humans weren't so cruel and stupid these animals wouldn't be in danger or on the verge of extinction. I do agree that the charities take the p*ss. The RSPCA wants more money per month for animals than Oxfam does for starving kids. How does that work?

So you are fond of animals well I love them.If I give to animal charities as well as humans that is up to me.
You are wrong to call people stupid, animals are worthy of our love and care.
Is it the animals fault that there is famine and wars in the world?
Consider this countries suffering famine sometimes have dictators who don't help their own.

I donate to the PDSA (People Dispensary for Sick Animals) which without my beloved dog would have died prematurely rather than of old age as i was on benefits and couldn't afford the standard vet prices. if you think they are evil come and have a go if you thin you are hard enough!!! so animal charities are worth their weight in gold so there

Some humans deserve to be shot. Animals should be treated with respect. When I hear about what some people do to fellow humans and animals, I wish them swift and immediate death. All good charities are deserving.

you sound as though you don't want an argument on this.
I personally love both animals and people, I have donated to animal charities and to human charities, it would be terribly sad, if we all thought the same, believe it or not people do love animals.
I don't think it is kind to be calling people "stupid" and it can certainly not be "morally wrong" as you put it , to help suffering animals.
Have a nice life

I give money to animals instead of people cos they deserve it more.Their suffering is almost always the fault of humans.Human suffering is usually self inflicted.Plus I have met loads of truly nasty people but few truly nasty animals so animals are nicer.
At the end of the day it's my money so it's my business.

The reason so many people give to charities (including myself) is because they can't speak for themselves. Who else is going to help them? Plus there are studies that show that animals acutally help many people who are depressed. So in a way you are helping animals and people

Evil is a poor choice of words.

Just because their priorities are different to yours, does not make them wrong.

Where then would you draw the line, if you want to talk about help of suffering.

Were you wrong to have paid that extra few coins on your diner yesterday when you could have eaten soup and donated the rest to children in Africa?
What about the shoes you bought or the shirt you wear. I am sure you could have bought cheaper and donated some?
Just because you could have and you did not, does not make you evil.

Anyone who tries to help in this messed up world is taking a step in the right direction - people or animals that is...
