If we could eliminate venereal disease and control pregnancy 100% before conception, could we all just relax and do it freely like Bonobo Chimps? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonobo

Here, here!

Sex is just one of a gazillion things people can do. I don't see what the big fuss is about. People, just be careful and practice safe sex and everything is going to be A-Okay...

well i read the article on bonobo chimps and their sexual behavior..and no we could not behave like them because as humans we have bonds to people...husband and wife/boyfriend and girlfriend, etc. While I agree there is nothing inherently wrong with sex, I don't agree that we can do it freely like Bonobo Chimps. Bonobo Chimps have no attachments, they have sex with their mothers, brothers, aunts, uncles, sisters...etc. No matter how 'freely' sex is being performed, I don't think people will be having sex with their relatives. Also, I feel that sex is meant for a relationship. Maybe not marriage, but a relationship that is stable and has trust and love and is on the way to a possible marriage. That is just the way our society works.

Also, if you could figure out a way to eliminate venereal disease and control pregnancy 100% before contraception...well....we still wouldn't be having sex like the Bonobo Chimps. They don't exactly use any contraception. So again-I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with sex, however, it cannot be done as the Bonobo Chimps do it. :-)

Right or wrong I don't care Bonobo Chimp, rabbits, minks or minx, salmons, white hot monkey love, whatever style you prefer you can never wipe out V.D. because the sad fact is that people use these animals during sex I think we need to educate ALL the gerbils and peanut butter licking Rotweilers to the dangers of human borne sexually transmitted pathogens just think of how much better a place the world would be if monkeys had fessed up to the fact that they carry the AIDS virus and would have had self policed themselves as far as testing and telling their trainer/partners that they hadn't been tested or that they were infected another thing we are overlooking is petting zoos I believe ALL zoos should perform regular tests on their animals to detect human STD's we are to blame for this as well IF YOU GO TO THE PETTING ZOO WEAR A CONDOM everytime !!!!!

Nothing wrong with sex at all. But i wont agree there is nothing wrong with free sex. I guess i am preaching a bit but imagine if every one had one partner for their entire life. No aids no herpes no STDs what so ever. No more bastard kids that end up getting smashed in their head and thrown in the garbage or sent to grow up in an orphanage to become punk drug dealers. No more heart breaks and people would actually trust the opposite sex.

Sex is a very good thing, unless it is abused like it is by most of our society and world.

Unfortunately we can't eliminate venereal disease and control pregnancy 100% before conception (at least for the forseeable future), so buck up and wait to get married.

Unfortunately no.

There are still sexual predators (rapists & pedophiles for example) that you would still need to control.

There are those who will say that contraception (no matter how good) is wrong.

There are those people who for whatever reason are just not emotionally ready or stable enough for sex.

Even though some states have satutary laws of 16 for girls to have sex, are those CHILDREN ready for the emotional implications of sex? Of course not!

So to put a simple answer to your broad question, NO.

Which is not to say I'm some sort of prude who thinks that sex is only for marriage, but the social and emotional ramifications are just too far-reaching for rampant free sex.

It is the most natural, wholesome and sacred act that money can buy.

Until you can remove politics, religion and inheritance considerations though, better leave the rutting to the chimps.

Not really.

If its easy to think that lots lof sex would make life more enjoyable I agree. But sex is also emotional. If it wasn't it would get boring fast. But because it is emotional it includes jealousy, envy, love and these emotions are part of why "free love" doesn't work.

God knew what He was talking about when He decreed that one spouse for life was the best way.

There is nothing inherently wrong with sex...after you are married. Eliminating venereal diseases is possible if people are not sleeping around.
