The make chugging noises, and some grunts, but what people dont realize is that Rabbits can SCREAM
yes they can scream like a woman.
In a heightened fright mode they start to make a high pitch scream and they will do it to alarm or frighten away a predator thats cornered them, They will also do it if they are in pain. Its very un-nerving and scary if you have not heard it.
I hand-raised 2 orphaned lops Crunch and Munch, that because they didnt know better, decided that if they screamed then they would get fed. everyone would just laugh there butts off when it was feeding times cause these 2 fluffy white/grey chinchilla colored adorable bunnies would come to the front of the carrier and put there little paws on the bars and open there mouths up and scream a horrible sound cause they were hungry. Silly guys.

They can make a grunting and/or a honking noise. Here are a couple of great sites about bunny language, if you're interested:

i used to own a few rabbits and they do make alot of noise! most of the time, my male grunted. my alpha stomped her feet alot and the second female would scream, it sounded like a pig or a baby crying. its the funniest thing if you get to hear one scream, but if youre not expecting it, it can scare the crap out of you too.

Thumping
Grunting/growling
Teeth grinding--either softly when they are happy or loudly when they are in pain
Crying/whimpering--mine does this when I pick her up because she doesn't like it
Muttering--to themselves, usually while relaxing
Screaming--when scared or in a lot of pain
Sniffing--one loud sniff means they are mad

My rabbit also makes this humming/honking/buzzing sound when she hops towards me.
