I'm going to get marry but I'm not gonna make things big. Just sign the papers and thats it. My question is about the department where people obtain marriage application. Do they have to be well dressed or it can be just casual. I'm very nervous and I can't think straight. Because in my country the marriage license department people who gets marry they are well dressed. help...

If you're in the US then just apply for the license at the county clerks office...in Texas there is a 3 day wait after you apply for a license before you can go to the court and actually get married...and yes, you can be casual...check your state laws...

You can dress casually. You are basically going in to fill out the application and wait for them to type it up. My husband and I were able to get our license within an hour.

You can dress any way you want. Dress nice if you want to commemorate the occasion; dress casually if it's not as important. No one will look down on you, and they will marry you no matter what. You're dressing up or down only for yourself and your mate - so ask yourself how important it is for the two of you to be well-dressed.

If you are talking about the Justice of the Peace. You dont have to dress up. I got married at the Justice of the peace and Me and my husband wore blue jeans.( We didnt have any money for fancy clothes) We have married now 13 yrs. Good Luck.

dress how you want. this is for you not everyone else. jeans and t shirt or nice dress it's up to you. just enjoy it. ten years from now splurge and have a big wedding, thats what i did. now its been 17 years. having another on our 25th
