I'm not saying this to hate on him; I know he's a great quarterback. If you agree with me; who do you think should have received it?

It's not that I don't think he deserved it; I just think the team did more of the work.

I think there should have been co-MVPs. Both Rhodes and Addai. It was the combination of them that Bears could not solve. Manning had a great game, but the running backs were the key. They did what Chicago wanted to do to Indy, but when one of your running backs gets hurt in the first, then it made them one dimensional.

Peyton Manning did deserve it.

Here's why:
The Colts call two plays every down with an option of a third. Manning also has the option of calling his own if he sees something. That's why you see so much talking and gesturing. Then it's up to Peyton to determine which of the plays will be called.

He basically has to make a good decision and have success even before the ball is snapped. If the play works, you know that he did the right thing. Also remember that the Colts run the no-huddle so he has to do all of this very quickly. His overall stats and success are a testament to his ability to do that.

In the Super Bowl he was smart enough to call the types of plays that would exploit the Bears safeties who were playing deep, to go away from Urlacher, and to play ball possession offense. When the game was over the Colts had run 82 plays and the Bears were just too tired to keep up.

Of course Manning has to have great players to make this work. Rhodes proved how valuable he is, as did Addai, Harrison, etc., but the bottom line is Manning not only has to be an effective QB, he also has to be on top of the pulse of the game.

THAT is why he deserves to be the MVP.

Personally, I think people should lay off Rex Grossman. He didn't play a down of defense, and that was 2/3 of the Bears plays.

HELL NO was Peyton the MVP ......... Dominic Rhodes was. it was a close call until the final Indy drive, where Rhodes KILLED the Bears defense who desperately needed a stop. Rhodes put the game on ice when the MVP was between him, Addai and Manning, Rhodes was the MVP.

JOSEPH ADDAI! He lead the team with catches, second with rushing... he controled the game almost the whole time on offense... He had 10 catches, the rest of the team had 15. He had almost as many rushes as Rhodes, just 2 fewer.

They couldn't give it to the entire Colts Defense so they settled on the best offensive performance and that was Peyton.
