A) I have to give an informative speech to 6th graders topics dealing with READING, CARING FOR THE ENVIROMENT, THE METRIC SYSTEM ,or NUTRITION.

I would think that NUTRITION would be the easiest to do, have the largest number of possible A.V. materials and visual aids, and be the most useful to the audience. You could use the food pyramid as well as different types of food examples from each area of the pyramid. The kids might actually LEARN something!
...plus, considering how most parents feed their children, the kids might actually go home and be able to use the information you gave them to benefit the entire family!

Can you build a PC? It is pretty easy now days. perhaps you could give a quick lesson on the basics and bring some parts to demonstrate. Everyone loves graphics so talk about graphics cards, how they work, and mention all the cool games like Biochock, Fallout, and Dragon Age. You could bring up Avatar as well. That will keep their attention and win you an A.

start w/ the amount of ppl who cant read
go to the amount of ppl who can (put it in 6th grader terms)
point out how important reading is to today's society
close with a statement making the 6th graders feel good about themselves if they decide to read; but not bad about themselves if they decide not to! the end
