No I don't understand either how it is that both the U.S.A. and the U.K. can imprison people without trial and then criticize other countries for doing the same.
And why isn't this in the media?
Ask yourself who controls the media and where do their interests lie

Four years ago the American people were rallying behind their war machine and declaring their patriotism. The current administration were lauded for their "Mission Accomplished" in such short order.
America backs a winner and if you're losing then they turn their backs on you. If America had gone in there and cleaned up in 6 months regardless if they killed 100% more Iraqis, the American people would be waving the flags and beatifying Mr. Bush.
They're not down on the President because of anything other than his putting them in a losing situation.
It's a little late to protest now.... you should have done that back when the rest of the world was speaking out against the invasion and America was ignoring them.

It has nothing to do with Central Banks. It's called special intrest groups. If I have billions of dollars, you have billions of dollars, and he has billions of dollars then the three of us can form a special intrest group.
To a senator for a vote: I will invest 300 million in your state for re-paving your highways, and in return you will vote for the war in Iraq.
This is a very bland way to explain how it works. Most of the time the money is very hidden and comes through several different companies.
We are a democracy, whether or not you agree / or see it.
The democrats just took over both houses b/c of the people. Not b/c the republicans were tired of controlling things.
We are the free'st country in the entire world. Something pretty dramatic has to happen in order for our population to really pay attention i.e. protesting in the street..................
That's why

I think Hartman has the right idea. But that is the military's mentality. Unfortunately, the Iraq "war" is a war run by the politicians, so they are all worried about what others will think/say if we "fight". Politicians worry about what others think; military thinks about how to fight a war. THAT is how things should have went.
And if our "fearless leader" would have listened to his military advisors, there would not have been an Iraq war - they advised against it. THAT is why Colin Powell was pushed out of his position. And I don't know about anyone else, but I think I would have taken the word of a decorated general over the word of a guy that got his position by being believed by the most voters. . .

We are a Republic creating a Republic. We do not want mob rule? What if all the people in the country wanted to kill all people who were under the IQ of 40. The Bill of Rights would stop them because we are in a Republic. If we were in a true democracy the people could have the law changed at a whim and let the killings begin.

I think honest people realise we can`t just walk out now and leave the good people of Iraq, think how well off the ordinary citizen would be with a democratic government.
They could be a wealthy country if the thugs put down their weapons of power and started enjoying life instead of killing people then we could all go home, they could sting bush and Blair when they buy their oil and charge us top dollar.
I don`t think genuine people would protest to leave ordinary Iraqis alone to face bombs and bullets. Not when we started it with a lie in the first place.
