You are doing good a keeping the morning sickness away. One thing that my mom did to avoid morning sickness was even before she stepped out of bed in the morning she had a small cup of plain cheerios on the night stand and would eat them first thing. I had the pleasure of never having morning sickness, and I have had four kids. As for the hunger your body is craving nutrients that you are losing to the baby. It may not so much be how much or how often you are eating but what you are eating. Try fresh fruits and veggies, I know this being winter that may be a bit hard, try small sandwiches for during the day and some foods that tend to be a little more filling like hot cereals in the morning, soups in the evening and then healthy snacks in between. Stay away from high sugar high calorie foods, they tend to make us feel full quickly but that full feeling does not last long and then the hunger burn comes back. Did you ever think that maybe the burn could be heartburn and not hunger. In that case which I had a ton of heartburn I sucked on pepper mints and lemon drops. They worked wonders and tasted better than rolaids. Good Luck...

It's normal for me! I get ravenously hungry in my first trimester.
Think about everything your body is doing right now... think about all the ways that your baby is developing right now! All baby's organs, his heart, his lungs, his nervous system... By the end of your 12th week (start of the second trimester) your baby is going to look like a little person! It takes tons of energy and nutrients to get all this hard work done. So, you see, the hunger is rather normal!
Eating lots of small meals is a very good idea. It's what I'm trying to do. Actually, it's becoming quickly necessary for me to eat this way. I don't seem to have any room for even a normal dinner anymore, let along a big meal. Just try to make sure that those little meals and snacks are on the healthy side of things!
Congratulations and good luck!

I'm also in my first trimester and am going through the same thing as you. I'm hungry as hell but if I try to eat big meals I throw up right away so I try to eat small/frequent meals but I noticed that anything cooked in my house, I can't stomach due to the look and smell. I get really nauscious, so I either get things i like from outside or I have my mom make me something at her house and bring it over. That way I can atleast enjoy my favorite foods and not feel hungry all the time.

I hate to say I am a veteran at this but I am. It is very normal to have the burning hunger early in your pregnancy. It is perfect that you are eating small but frequent meals. By your 3rd or 4th month it should all be gone and you should feel normal again, but everyone is different. Good luck and blessings to you!

Yes, I've eaten so much that I put on over 10 pounds in my first trimester. Now, while I know that technically we should be putting on 3/4 of a pound a week, I sincerely doubt that it is supposed to be so spread out. I'm a little fearful of how much weight I'll end up putting on at the end of this, but at least I know my baby will be OK.

Of course it's normal... avoiding morning sickness by eating small amounts throughout the day may help, however you still have eat balanced meals.. just not 3 huge ones. Snacking is not provide sufficient nutrients to your baby, if you're still hungry eat more... just don't overdo it. Also remember to take your prenatals religiously and drink plenty of water, this'll help avoid that grose sooooo-hungry-going-to-naw-my-own-arm-off feeling.

yeah it is.
The best thing to do it have someone bring you prepared food ready to eat, something that sounds remotely good, and then eat as much of it as you can the SECOND it makes it through the door, and then throwing EVERYTHING away deep in the garbage where you wont smell it or see it later.
Also, you need protein, thats why you're super hungry right now. Eat something meaty.

It's normal but you need to try eating more. When your pregnant don't worry about getting sick because it will pass after a few you need to worry about getting that baby the food and nutrients it needs. good luck and congrads
