no? Why on earth would you want to be induced at 34 weeks? You have a death wish for your baby?

Doctors do all they can to get you to 37 weeks before they do anything like that, and most doctors wont even consider inducing you until 38-40 weeks or better.

It takes 40 weeks for a reason lady, because thats how long your baby needs to be healthy and survive outside your body, and avoid life long health issues. You take that time away and you end up with a child and adult with health issues.

Every Dr. is different but they for sure will not induce you until 37 weeks, because the lungs will not be ready until then. I asked my Dr. at 37 weeks and she said she wouldn't induce me until 2 days after my due date. Luckily I ended up going 2 weeks early. I know how those last few weeks drag, just hang in there. If your baby is ready and you try to induce yourself naturally it may help. My Dr. suggested having sex because the sperm contains something in it that will help to ripen the cervix. I also used my breast pump to help release oxytocin. Each time I used it I could tell that the Braxton Hicks got stronger. Nothing will make you go until your baby is ready though. Hang in there you'll have your baby soon enough.

No they will not induce you unless you or the baby are at risk. They like to wait until 35 weeks or after, preferably after, to even think about labor. Most doctors will induce if you have not delivered around 40 weeks or if you have not delivered by your due date. I know you are uncomfortable, I've been through it twice. Good luck and congrats on the little one!

Usually not. Inducing is supposed to be used for medical reasons, such as failure to progress, baby too big. Doctors are supposed to use induction only if the labor and delivery needs some intervention. The body usually can do it on its own plus sometimes with induction, things don't go as naturally as they should and c-sections sometimes end up happening anyway. If a doctor induces just because, I would not have him as my doctor.

Doctors will not induce before week 37 unless the mothers health or the health of the baby is at risk.

Why at 34 weeks ..... health problems?
or just tired of being pregnant?
I think you should let the baby develop his/her lungs ...
Baby might need that extra time in the womb- to become strong. Unless the baby is over 9 lbs already, then yeahhhh........ get induced.

Most doctors will let the mother go to term...

probably not, I dont think they can induce you if you want to be, and you would have to be at your due date anyway, you still have a few weeks to go. I got induced the day before I was due and ended up having to have a c-section b/c my bones were too small for her to fit through. But I think they just induce you if they need to not b/c you want them too.

Not at 34 weeks. Most wait until you are 38 weeks. I had a baby born at 34 weeks, and although he was extremely healthy and breathing on his own, many babys lungs still are not developed completely and some may still have problems. The doctors will not risk that.

It would be dangerous for the baby to be born this early, so they wouldn't normally induce labor at this point unless there was a grave risk to your health from continuing the pregnancy. But of course you should talk to your doctor about your concerns.
