If you have t-mobile...go with them. Otherwise cingular is a good alternative. If you have a small company in your area they will usually offer the best rates.

Cingular has two different prepaid plans .....(pay as you go) which is like the trac fone the other is more like having a contract you get free nights and wk ends texting and internet if you get the plans 49.99 and above the plan is called (pick your plan ) it shows you your balance every time you make a call and it carries over the minutes you don't use in the month so if you talk less one month you have even more minutes to use the next month...it is drafted out of your bank account every month in the amount of the plan you choose...you can cancel at any time...check Cingular.com for the phones they have available

Page-Plus is a discounted version of Verizon. Best service & rates I've used. Phones from $25 w/100 mins. 14 cents per min max 10 cents on the low end depending on how many you buy. Free long distance, voice-mail. 8 cent text up to 160 carecters. They have a wide range of phones including camera, voice activated etc. those cost more of course up to like $65.

I can give you a complete rundown on prepaid services in your area (unbiased) but I don't know where MD. TY is. Can you specify? Email me if you need to.

How about T-Mobile To Go? I use them and they have great service, for much cheaper. Virgin Mobile is also okay. Here are some sites to try:

http://cingular.com
http://virginmobileusa.com
