Well when I found out I was having another baby we bought my son a shirt that said " I am the big brother" and let him wear it to a family gathering!
Best of Luck and Congrats!

With our third child and neither sides of the family really intersted or had thoughts that we would have another child. The first one was a surpirse and even a shock to them, the second, believe me they could have come up with something better to say to us when we told them.
So this time around we waited until I was 5 months, and told everyone on Thanksgiving. Said we had something else to be thankful for and spit it out right as the turkey hit the table. Could have caught flies in the dropped jaws that day.

We've got two potential ways and we haven't decided which we're going to go with:
We're probably going to tell them on Easter. By then I'll be 16 weeks and we'll have an ultrasound picture in an Easter card to them from our daughter (with a picture of her) and the new baby (with one of the ultrasound pictures).
We have been thinking of putting a t-shirt together for our daughter (with iron on letters from a craft store) that says "Big Sister, September 2007". We're thinking of having our daughter wear her Easter dress for a while, then changing to get comfy. We'll just put the t-shirt on her and let the family figure it out for themselves.
Congratulations and good luck!

A really cute way is to buy each parent a small gift and either invite them over for dinner or go to their house. In each gift put a pair of booties or a bib or something -- see if they can get the hint on their own.
Or send a Congratualtions basket to them. Explain on the card :-)

There was a movie out years ago with Molly Ringwald. She and her boyfriend had to tell their parents they were pregnant. At dinner with everyone, she says, "I'm pregnant, could you pass the turnips?"
I think the best way is to have them over for dinner or go out. Taking them out would help if you think they are going to cause a scene. This will force them to keep themselves in check. If you want them to feel free to whoop and holler, have them over for dinner.
Or give them a Grandparent's Day card...early. ;O)

Don't tell them at first. Introduce the topic and get them to talk about it. Obviously, you are sensitive to their views when it is primarily an issue between you. There is obviously some salient information missing which would clarify your question.

Well are they going to be excited or disappointed, can't tell from your question.
Do something creative with the ultrasound picture.
