Well, It seems from many reports and in this yahoo answer! that no Malaysian welcome Singaporean... We gave Malaysian billions of dollars and yet Malaysian hate Singaporean... SO why do SIngaporean go in? Yes, for the cheap food... but from now, when you go in to Johor, you got to pay RM 20...

We have the money and we can go thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan etc.. Malaysia's malay are really rude... We don't need to give them any more income.

Why must we give them so much money and in return they hate us?

Well, they cant live without SIngapore and SIngapore can live without them....

Without our money invest in them, we will see how they GDP grow...

Please... SINGAPOREAN DON"T GO INTO MALAYSIA ANYMORE....

Think twice.... Look at those Malaysian's profile and decide..

their unhappiness towards singapore are mostly directed @ economic frictions & racial issues.

oftentimes, their government use religion to stir up nationalistic sentiments.
our government, however, dangle carrots in front of us to propel us towards economic progress.

as you mentioned, the financial aids that we assist them wasn't recipocrated, & the amount of business transactions between us doesn't bond us as much as we should. kinda of sad, is it?
if both countries are to be co-operative as it should be, there won't be misunderstandings...

that is the reason why singapore always emphasized racial harmony, because if there should be racial war/ disharmony, nobody wins. what everybody wants is peace & security. ask any family man, what they want is to have a good job, go home & see their wife & children's smiles, have a great dinner together, & sleep peacefully @ night.
we are all inter-dependent on each other.

singapore are no greater than malaysians/ indonesians, or vice versa. i have always respect m'sians & i hope that these spats will be over asap.

Why should we create a friction with each other. We are neighbours.
What happened in Johore against the Singaporean is a coincidental. It could be the others (illegal Immigrants ) that committed the crime against the visitors in Johore whom happen to be Singaporean. People from both sides of the countries may have relatives or friends living or working in either countries. There should not be any friction among us. We have to be proactive and looks at things to improve and not to cry over the spilled milk.
Malaysian ( Johorean ) should curb the crime activities by providing information to Police and enhance security for all. If everybody just sit down and watch with folded arms, eventually Johore ( Malaysia ) economy will be affected when Singaporean do not visit. We are neighbours, we should encourage cross visits from both countries. Even a dollar profit is still revenue to the people and country.

Please, please don't thrash ah_dear!! He may have a valid point and we all knew that what is happening around, don't shut your eyes for cheap food and entertainment.
The government trying very hard to unite both of us but there are some trouble makers making some trouble.
Thieves are clearly targetting Singaporeans and also they are targetting rich Malaysians too. Because people don't bother to complain as they knew no one can do much about it unlike Singaporeans making police report.
There are many Malaysians come across to earn the Singapore dollars mainly the Indians and the Chinese. I have promoted many Malaysian staff into Managerial level but sometimes the kindness does not pay back. Don't expect so that you don't get disappointed.
On top of this many of our Singapore leaders are actually born in Malaysia.
My advise is there are some nice people and bad people in every country, so take best and drop the rest. I have stopped visiting the peninsular because I felt that I was not welcome but this solely my discretion. Long queue at the custom, chances are getting robbed and most of the taxi drivers love to cheat you. I hope these changes and hope to visit agan.

Since past, the bond between Malaysia & Singapore is so strong that, both cannot be "separated". Just look around, how many "Singapore Citizen" are from Malaysia? Many of our friends and relative here were borned in Malaysia. The people between two countries are so closed. So, why hate the Country because of their Government policies? Not all Singapore Government policies are welcome by Singaporean too. Think of the beautiful part of Malaysia, think of the strong bond between the poeple, you will treasure our neighbour at the North.

If there is any thing that we can be hated will be our EGO.

Malaysian have to pay S$30.00 per day driving into singapore, at least that;s only RM20 per entry for Singaporean cars entering there.

I am not a Malay and am happy co-existing with them all around S E Asia.

gosh..this is not even a question!!!

Well my malaysian grandma-in-law welcomes us to her house in JB. Haha. Oh well, people like going into JB cose of their preference and we cannot change or enforce our own opinion on them.

I personally do not like going into JB cose of the long queue at custom, slow service at malaysia checkpoints, JB car cutting into your queue forcefully while queueing at custom, car theft, etc. Basically it is not a safe place to visit, unless it's further north like Genting, Cameron Highland and Penang.

By the way, toilettries, foodstuff, seafood and petrol are not that cheap in Malaysia, esp JB. I wouldn't want to spend my whole day waiting 3-4 hours at the customs just to get my passport chop and save only a few dollar while wasting money on petrol for driving in.

All in all it is still quite a pleasant place to visit if you are on a budget. Even if they hate or dislike us, let's be adult about it and treat them nice or the least, don't be bother with them. We will feel better this way.

Why use an old video of a political speech? As many people say, politics is dirty and this is one example of the ex-premiere doing so, with his home supporters. All this is for him to gain support for his tenure as the PM then.

Anyway, the Malaysian has not worked out the tull yet, so we will wait and see.

Anyway, many of the animosity had been roused by politicians, have you noticed that? Especially when election starts coming around.

Live and let live.

I hope you try to live along well, you're neighbors. My husband and I and his brother will be in KL this March for a vacation. We also intend to visit singapore by bus and devote two nights there. I heard that living in Singapore is expensive. I've been to malaysia twice and singapore twice. My husband will go there the first time.

I dont think you are that smart having the thought of going elsewhere than paying $20 rm/-- theres a lot to gain cheap stuff cheap food and cheap petrol. whinning does not make things any better except you put hatred in yourself. try being positive and look into the bright side of things, am sure you will be a better person. take care !
