I was diagnosed as a type II diabetic. I'm a nurse, and have taken care of lots of diabetics with their complications. I put myself on a diet and exercise regimen with the help of my doctor.

I'm now 120 lbs lighter, very energetic and happy, happier than I've evr been in my life.
I have lots of healthy years ahead of me!!!

I've had a few things that changed me. Some for the better, some not. Of course the birth of both my girls changed me. Getting cancer at 24 changed me. Finding out that your husband is leaving you just when cancer is cured, baby turns 1, other child is 3, and he has been sleeping around for more than one year. The death of a beloved family member. Death of my fiance's father. Death of 4 bestfriends, all in one accident.

All these things, plus more change me. Almost everyday sometimes occurs that seems to change me. But, I roll with the punches (so to speak) with a smile on my face and allow God to continue to punish me. Ahhhhhhh, life!!! What a love / hate relationship!!

That's a great question. I would have to say when my husband and I moved from FL to Indiana so he could further his career. It is hard to pick up and leave everyone and everything that you know. We are getting used to it, but it's not the same. We know that we won't see a familiar face anywhere and that can be difficult at times. But it is our journey in life and we will go wherever it takes us! :)

Getting involved with the wrong person.
I guess it humbled me, and made me realize just because you love and care for someone doesn't make you capable of saving them. I learned that you sometimes you need to give up the fight to save yourself. Love yourself first and foremost.

Hm, well it would have to be what my mentor taught me. "The things in life we must strive for what is coming not passing". It means that i have been searching in the past when i must search in the future, and i did.
