Nope, you're fine. The only harm is when the mother is a negative type and the father is positive. If the baby takes after the father and is also positive then the mother can form antibodies that will attack a future baby after the first baby is born. This is really no longer a problem because both mother and child are routinely typed now and if this situation exists then the mother receives a shot of something called RhoGam which essentially tricks the mother's immune system into thinking that it has already made the antibody and it will not form. Any future babies are safe. However, since you are a positive type you should be fine.

It's not the blood types that matter. If you are Rh negative, and he's Rh positive then you could have harm to the baby.

"A woman is at risk when she has a negative Rh factor and her partner has a positive Rh factor. This combination can produce a child who is Rh positive. While the mother's and baby's blood systems are separate there are times when the blood from the baby can enter into the mother's system. This can cause the mother to create antibodies against the Rh factor, thus treating an Rh positive baby like an intruder in her body."

It's called RH factor and the doctors have ways of dealing with it. It won't kill you.

I think you just have to get a couple extra shots while you are in labor - sorry!
