Does anyone know cheap ways to call a UK cell phone from a US landline?

I would also be willing to call from my cell phone but imagine that would cost even more. Most plans I find charge about 25 cents a minute to call a cell phone from a land line and I am hoping to find cheaper then that. Thanks for your help.

Vonage is NOT free to mobiles in the UK!! Only landlines!

Mobile phones in the UK amongst other places outside of North America get free incoming calls because the person calling them foots the bill for the airtime. This is why it costs so much more to call mobile phones.

That being said, you can get rates as low as 7 cents per minute with a prepaid calling card, but they use 3 minute rounding and deduct 69 cents from your balance twice weekly. The cheapest no fee 1 minute rounding card to UK mobs is 15.3 cents per minute, still cheaper than what you're paying. If you talk a lot and would use up the card quick, the 7 cent per minute deal would be your best option. I recommend the "Fast Track" prepaid calling card. Call United Kingdom cell phones from 7¢/min. from USA - Continental.

It's a great rate but there's one thing to know. The card has a "20% carrier service fees deducted after each call" So make sure you buy a low denomination card ($5) and make one long phone call that will use all the minutes. You should be able to talk for 1 hour using the $5 card.

Yea, sure. . . get ATT Broadband phone service or Vonage. One of those offers free calls to Europe - and they are only like 24.00 a month. Unlimited long distance.
