Can't you go into the website for the theatre where the show is being held? It sometimes gives a map of the theatre and the layout of the seats.

Tiered seats rise gradually from the front of the theatre to the back so that people's heads do not obstruct view of people behind.

Tiered Seats are when the seats go upwards, rasied so that you can see better, like when you go to the cinema, type seats.
and if you go on the website of the theatre you can get a layout of the seating and you will be able to see how far away you are from the stage. Hope you have a great time. I am going to see Dolly Parton in March in the uk and can't wait.
ps...just thought....if you go on yahoo then click on images tab and type in Tiered Seats it comes up with loads of images of all the different types. hope this helps
