I mean, if people really stopped for a second and thought about what they were about to do and all of the associated consequences, I bet you there would be a lot less problems.

Well they don't...... that's what seems logical to them
And emotions are logical, they sometimes just lack the logical links that's all. If people stopped having emotions, they wouldn't be people anymore..... but it's genetics and cannot be overthrown. And problems are good! Remember that the more problems you overcome, the more experienced you get. Without problems we wouldn't be capable of learning and getting out of situations.
Emotions are as rational as mathematics..... Just look at them from another prespective.

Humans are primarily emotional creatures. Logic is just a thin veneer of paint on a huge building. In most cases even when we pretend to use logic we are merely using it to justify what we feel. Besides, logic is only one way to view the world, and not always the best.

Most emotion is not irrational. Alot of so-called logic is bull. I have found that most people, both genders, who hate emotion / love logic are misogynistic...too bad young people are still being 'trained' (abused) this way.

You might be right. I try to teach my kid that every choice has a consequence. Has it helped? Not much. He still makes choices (usually) based on immediate gratification.
Our culture doesn't give much credence to contemplation. We're in such a hurry that we don't like to take the time to consider such things as consequences.

We think with our hearts, without feeling and emotions life would be clinical and bland. We would just be computers with skin. Ooo thats a nasty thought... Imagine if your girlfriend said 'sorry this program is having problems, would you like to send an error report?' lol! :)
