Also, in the My Computer section, the CD drive bit seems to have disappeared. Help!

Its a case of reinstalling it, you can go into devices and you will likly see a minus next to it, u have to change it to a plus. I devises go to hardware and u should be able to install it from there if I can remember by highlighting cd then click on apply then ok and if it asks for u to restart ur pc then do it, it should be fine. Sorry I sound a bit fluffy its because am disabled and suffered a stroke, I struggle on some tech answers but I think u will get wat I mean. Other people will help.

Info is a little weak to determine what is happening. Could be that drive might have been disabled or malfunctioning. Try to reinstall the drive. Should be "plug n play" no specific drivers needed. AHHHH the joys of laptop ownership.

Check to see that its not loose, most laptops have a release button underneath for removal of the cd-rom. Read your manual if you are unsure.


If this is not the case then the drive may be dead

In past some virus have been known to loose cdrom devices, else check connections. has this ever worked, anything happen when it disappeared, check bios settings to see if bios sees it.

Yes that should more than likely be able to run all your games on ultra but you need to know how many cores it has at least 4 and your processor speed should be above 3.0GHz
