even though all the chefs pretty much hated marcel, at least he was a really good chef and also didn't backstab anyone at all. He wasn't afraid to say whatever he had to say to the person's face. Ilan was just such a jerk, especially at the end when he dissed harold-probably the nicest+talented guy to ever be on the show. I also think Ilan got Elia to side with him over the stupid pot thing, becuase Elia never really seemed to have a problem with Marcel until that stressful day.

I was kinda upset Ilan won. I really wanted Sam to be in the top two. The only reason Marcel made it was because the producers wanted to keep up ratings for the finale...but whatever.
I think Marcel was a bit to confident and cocky. I understand having high-self esteem but he's only 26 and always acted like he knew more than the judges and other chefs. He never realized that there were contestants with way more experience than him. But he realized that when he didn't win the title!

yes, marcel was a bit of a butt head but i think that is what you need to be to become a top chef. You have to only care about the food not the people around you in the kitchen. I think he should have won because he thought outside the box on his entrees, and i didn't like jeffery for this past season of project runway but he won, so that just goes to show you that not always should the nicest person win. You are right though, Howard was the nicest person on that show, ever. They still need a better host someone who is not so stiff.

i didn't care since i didn't really care for either of them. i think that if marcel had gotten the chocolate drop thing to stay he would have won. marcel may be a great chef but he also needs the support of his team he is working with.
this season kinda stunk for me, too much bickering not enough good cooking.
the thing with harold being made fun of is uncalled for - harold is a nice guy and humble.

No i wasnt upset ilan won top chef .I just hoped that Marcel didnt win.I woulve been ok with anyone except for Marcel.

Absolutely I was upset. Ilan was a punk, but wanted everyone to think he was the nice guy. Marcel is the real punk, wasn't afriad to play that role and I loved him for that.

It was not about personality... the Judges even said that. It was about being the best chef. The judges choose based on that. I was not upset either way..
