Baking Soda! Make a paste from baking soda and a bit of water. The water is only to make the baking soda stick to a cloth so you won't need very much.
With some of the paste on the cloth, rub out the crayon from the wall. It really works. Baking soda is a very fine abrasive. It will remove the wax/crayon without damaging the paint.
When all the marks are gone, the left over baking soda will just come off with water.
It's just as good as the Mr. Clean magic eraser, but cheaper.

Before trying any scrubbing answer this, Is the paint on the wall washable. I have tried heating up the crayon and then wiping it off with a damp towel then using Windex. A lot of times the wax will leave a stain if the paint is not washable so you will need to touch up over it. But even if you have to paint over it try to get the wax off first or some paints will allow it to bleed through

I hope it's not flat paint on the wall, that will make it harder to get off. The best thing I've found to clean stuff like this is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. These things are amazing, will clean up most anything. Hope it works.

Oh, tell them to go buy this wonderful new product made by Mr. Clean. I forget what they are actually called, but something like magic wipes. They are sponges, that you wet and things MAGICALLY disappear off of your walls! A must have for anyone, especially if you have kids!
good luck!

use a penetrating lubricant (like WD-40) and spray on the marks, then wipe with a soft cloth. make sure to try it on an inconspicuous spot first. if that doesn't work dip a sponge into a solution of dishwashing detergent and warm water, rubbing in a circular motion. rinse with warm water and pat dry
you could rub the marks gently with a sponge with baking soda sprinkled on it
