Why? Isn't it bad enough when they whine and moan about a simple head cold? Okay, sorry, don't mean to lump ALL men into that category, but right now I'm dealing with a co-worker listing all the details of his bout with the flu over the weekend. You'd think he had major surgery. Last week it was about his sore ribs, before that, who remembers? Every week it's some new ailment. I can't imagine listening to 9 months of swollen ankles, indigestion, morning sickness, and all the assorted pregnancy-related problems. I have a brother-in-law who is the same. He has to take to bed for a simple splinter in his finger.

something tells me that if men had to give birth then the world would be hugely under populated! I mean come on, they can't even handle a "man cold" with out having two weeks in bed lol

No i loved every minute of being pregnant and yes ok the childbirth was hell and painful but it was the best experience of my life and its one men can never ever have or take away from women, which is great. although i would like for them to know exactly how painful it is so they could be more understanding altough most of my male friends that have children kinda know that after seeing their own children being born and have alot more respect for it.

Yes, then I would have the second child and he would have some sympathy towards me whilst giving birth! If my other half could feel my period pains then maybe he would stop making remarks about my crabby mood that comes with it! So yes, I would let him have the first one just so he understands! x

Interresting. it is the most traditional of the feamle roles isnt it.

i think if i had the choice i would want the option of either my partner or i doing it. (as long as it doesnt involve loosing ones own ability to bear children in favour of men doing it)

there are two sides to this arguement. 1) yeah great idea... the last of the feminish battles i suppose ;) but 2) you would be taking away that which makes us women. then what?

of course!!! over population would become a thing of the past, as no man would ever want to do it again....give birth that is. men are and always will be the weaker sex.

You bet! They say that giving birth is the closest thing to death, without actually dying! After all, a part of your body just opens up when giving birth!

NO. Don't take away the most important thing a woman does in her life. Don't take away the only event that is TRULY feminine and that we, as woman, have to ourselves. Childbirth is painfull, but I would never have wanted to miss it for the world. It makes a woman a woman.

It would be good to be able to just stand back and hold his hand and rub his back and tell him how well he`s doing but i`d miss having the feeling of my baby growing inside me and feeling it move about and kick in the middle of the night!!
