Hello everyone

I have a Ford Windstar 98 model. I think that my fuse needs to be changed for my lighter. I checked them last night, but did not see the fuse for the lighter but I saw several other fuses. Can you please tell me which fuse controls the lighter.

Well it might be under acc (for accesories). Also did you know that the lighter element burns out eventually. Then you go buy a new one.

You either need needle nose pliers to check all the fuses one by one. Or an ohmeter to check continuity as the new models have it where you can check the back of fuse itself while still in the fusebox.

If all the fuses are good, then your lighter has left this world for a brighter light. lol Buy another $6 replacement. If you do, buy the one that is lighted for like at night, it helps.

What makes you think that it is the fuse? Typically, things in the centet stack will not have their own fuse, so if the lighter fuse was bad, something else in that area (such as some dash lights, the glove box lights, the radio, etc) will not work at all. Also, something to think about, automotive lighter units, as well as the sockets DO go bad. They usually arent very expensive to replace. If only the lighter socket is not working, and all of the fuses look ok, it could very well be a bad socket.

On the door of your fuse panel is a list of what each fuse is for, check that out, otherwise remove each fuse until you find the right one.
