He is a 21-year-old college student, majoring in biochemistry. He's not big into sports or anything like that, but he does like working on cars and he likes punk music. His interests are kind of all over the place. I've been with him for 5 years, and I always just get him chocolates and a card. I just wish I could do something different this year. He already told me he wants to take me somewhere nice for dinner, so making him dinner is out of the question. Thanks for any help I can get!

Is there a tool he really wants for working on cars? My bf is always wanting some sort of tool....unfortunately I am a poor college student, and the tools he wants are expensive. Does he want something for his car?

I try to avoid gift cards, they are too inpersonal and don't show much thought.

If you've been listening carefully, our new President has made clear that any Stimulus Package requires spending..... a point on which I heartily agree. (Somehow, I just KNEW this man would prove himself worthy of my vote! As if by instinct, he understands these things.) Thing is: It has always seemed a fairly obvious concept that the more spending a man is willing to do, the more stimulated a woman is likely to become. Btw... that goes for Elephants, as well. Right, Eleanor? (Just putting in a good word for my girl.) Unfortunately, as it is currently worded, my own personal Stimulus Package is a wee bit too radical to pass (in neither the Senate nor the House.... and definitely not in MY house). However, by revamping the criteria of my plan (possibly, eliminating the words "Cartier" and "Tiffany" from the final draft) I am hopeful that it will prove acceptable - especially, when you consider how many jobs it would create.... in the lingerie departments of several major retailers. Now all I need is a good talker (preferably not a Republican) to pitch this plan for me. Any suggestions? PS: IMO..... Ma has this one - hands down. Truer words were never spoken.

Maybe a cool T-Shirt with some kind of car logo on it? And a Gift Card to a Auto Parts Store would be cool as well. My husband loves music, but he's got every CD... so it's hard for me as well. But since he likes cars, I suggest that. Good luck!
