I'd say we're both equal. Our counties may have been at each others throats some seven hundred years ago, and there is still a healthy rivalry between our counties, (especially when it comes to Rugby League)

I refuse to say who's county is better, I was born in Lancashire, but have some very good friends from Yorkshire.

EDIT:
JJ88 said "aside from hot-pot, whatever came out of Lancashire that was any good?" Oh, how about St Helens Rugby League? treble winners of the Superleague throphy, the League Leaders shield and the Challenge Cup. That's what's good about Lancashire!

But, putting their rivalries aside, at least Lancashire and Yorkshire can hold their heads up high and know they are better than the southern faires!!!

I was born in Lancashire and have lived here all my life - but if I was given the choice (i.e. given a house, a new job I enjoy etc. etc.) I would move to York in a heartbeat.

I detest cities, but York is the one place where I have always felt at home. I visit York everytime I have a holiday, even if it's just for the day. The people are far friendlier.

But, either is preferable to anywhere further south than Birmingham. It seems the closer to the capital you get, the less friendlier and more rude and arrogant people get.

No - Yorkshire is better.

Yorkshire pudding. Last of the Summer wine, Pontifact Cakes.

Apart from the Hot Pot what ever came out of Lancashire?

Hahahahahahhaaa, oh perlease!!

I was born in Lancashire but came here, to Yorkshire as a toddler (with my parents!) I go back to Lancashire perhaps twice a year to visit people and it's a doss hole, the people are rude, arrogant and unfriendly and the place is run down and grotty!

I'm forever grateful to my mum and dad for bringing me up as a Leeds Lass!!!

To be honest thinking about it, both lancashire ans Yorkshire are much better than anywhere down south, with all the southern fairies that cant handle their beer and talk like they have eaten a bag of plums!!!

Now thats a way to start an arguement ;) hee hee ;)

No bloody way, Yorkshire Rules. On a more Wholescale if Yorkshire & Lancashire joined forces they would rip it up.

At the end of the day I think the majority do have one thing in common we are not great lovers of much below the midlands!

Everybody knows the Tudor Lancastrians are pretenders to the rightful Plantagenate Yorkist crown. Long live King Richard (Huzzah)
