I think the point was supposed to be that Dorothy has learned to face her problems. She is no longer afraid and will stand up for herself and those she cares about.

Keavy Member on account that: July 17, 2006 entire factors: 1936 (point 3) upload to My Contacts Block consumer superb answer 42p.c.229 solutions Member on account that: July 17, 2006 entire factors: 1936 (point 3) factors earned this week: 0 upload to My Contacts Block consumer superb answer - chosen via Asker If she might've taken the pink highway, she in all probability might've ended up in the land of the Quadling County that's in the southern portion of oz. Glinda the witch of the SOUTH lives in the Quandlings in the unique ouncesseries via L. Frank Baum. each and each land in ounceshas a shade - Munchkinland in the east is blue, the Gilikins in the north are purple, the Quadlings to the south are pink, and the Winkie County to the West is yellow. yet relatively the instructions are reversed on a map of oz - north and south are the comparable, yet west is east and east is west. So - if Dorothy took the pink highway in the movie she might've ended up in the south and located the real Glinda that lives there and is a extra useful sorceress than the Glinda of the North in the movie. Then that Glinda might've given her the gnome king's magic belt to bypass lower back and forth between Kansas and oz. i'm no longer making this up! those issues comes from the ouncesbook sequence. There are 14 unique ones via L. Frank Baum and over 40 in the ouncesseries! 5 months in the past

Well Ms. Gulch did take the dog and the dog got away after all that happened with Dorothy i'm sure the fate of a dog was the last thing on everyone's minds. Maybe Auntie Em's tounge lashing and Dorothy running away from home changed Ms. Gulch's feelings (such as they were) or Dorothy's relatives made a deal that Dorothy would take another route home from school.
The dog was the reason she ran away because Toto was her only friend.
Ms. Gulch was a wealthy old maid who was miserable because no one would marry her...or was she so miserable no one would want to marry her?? If you paid to see that film you're up there in years it was last shown in theaters in the 1939 and is on tv all the time for free if you paid to see it that's your own fault.
I didn't get a refund for being subjected to Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

Well, let me see...
Considering that the last time we saw Miss Gulch in the movie she was bicycling through a tornado, I don't think Dorothy has much to worry about.
Now , assuming you paid your money to watch a charming fantasy, why not sit back, chew on your Clark Bar, watch the movie and stop annoying the other people in the theater?

The dog isn't important. Dorothy never really liked it that much anyway as it wasn't properly house trained. The old woman took the dog and Dorothy bought a new one called Snoopy. She also changed her name to Charlie Brown so that the wicked witch would never find her.

This is my favourite film of all time and I wish people wouldnt read so much into such a great film! Especially bringing her poor dog into it! We all know the witch has a court order, it doesn't make it right! There's a moral to this film, can't we dwell on that?

So you accept that scarecrows and tin men exist, not to mention Witches and flying monkeys, and then have the gaul to question why the dog was overlooked at the end?
You need to get out a bit more!

You ask a good question....something that was left over for the sequel, perhaps.....Perhaps the old Biddie died in the storm, like the wicked witch in the dream. Who knows?...but it is a small fact and doesn't ruin a movie classic.

It didn't matter any more b/c everyone was safe from the tornado. In the old days good things happened to good people. And Toto too!
